Babysitter Job: The Cooney Family with 2 Children
My husband and I have two daughters ages 3 and 7. We have full time day-care but are looking for an occasional baby sitter (1-2 times per weekend). Generally, it would be for evenings 5-9. Or on full days when the daycare is closed, 1-2 times per month. Eventually, it would be great to have support on pick up for occasions we are running late.
The girls are largely self-sufficient. We have a lot of toys and activities for them to do. Our youngest daughter, Phoebe, is about 80% potty trained (almost there!). Isadora (7), is going into second grade in a few weeks. She’s currently in daycare for the summer with Phoebe 8am-5pm.
Also, we have one small dog and a cat. Both are friendly and largely keep to themselves.

I have a 18 month old son Luke! He has lots of energy and loves to play and be goofy. I am an RN, going to start working in the hospital for 12 hour shifts three days of the week. My husband is a psych NP and graduating this month, hoping to start working in October. Not too sure what my schedule will look like just yet as I got hired on Friday. I would like to hire a nanny that can be with our son at home for those 3 days. My husband won’t work as early as I do so maybe a nanny who would be able to work from 9-5? We have 2 cats that are friendly and won’t be a requirement to care for, but petting is welcomed! Everything can be provided at home including snacks and drinks. Looking for someone with some experience caring for toddlers and someone who is patient but won’t give in to tantrums! Practice vocabulary with him and let him watch a little TV here and there. We will prepare his meals, but supervised meals is a must because he gets carried away and stuffs food into his mouth. No need to drop him off, so far seat won’t be necessary. I’m expected to start work on 9/9 so I’d like to get my schedule figured out around that time and sort out a nanny :)
