A little bit about us

We have two young girls, ages 4 and 9. We are looking for someone full-time. During the school year, it is basically 10-6, with school pick up and after school activities. During the summer, it is about 3pm to a little later after the girls get out of camp. We travel to our beach house in Corolla for about 4 weeks and would love if the person could travel with us for at least part of that in the summer.
The nanny has her own bedroom/bathroom at our beach house. We can always be flexible.
The girls love to have fun and we make sure we arrange whatever we need to so you can all have a good time together!

Hello, I’m in need of a nanny that can help dropping of my son at school at 8:20am and drop off my daughter at school at 8:50am. I currently work 9-2 to be able to drop them off and pick them up but my regular hours are 8-5. They both go to Hamilton Elementary School in Carlisle. I will need nanny to pick up my daughter from school at 2pm and my son at 3:30pm and take care of them until I get off work at 5pm. Nanny can stay at my house for the time she will watch my kids or whichever way works better for nanny.

What Are After-School Nanny Jobs?

After-school nanny jobs are part-time positions that cover weekday afternoons, usually from school pickup until early evening. They fit nannies who want a regular schedule, students, and people with other commitments in the morning.

Types of After-School Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Typical duties include school or bus-stop pickup, snacks, homework help, activities and lessons, and sometimes dinner. Some jobs include a few mornings or school holidays too. Check the school pickup time, the days per week, and whether driving is required.

How to Interview for After-School Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What time is school pickup, and which days do you need care?
  • Will I drive, and is a car seat or vehicle provided?
  • How do you handle early dismissals and school holidays?
  • What are the children's activities and routines?
  • Is dinner or light housekeeping part of the job?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
