A little bit about us

Seeking a nanny once or twice a week on weekends to provide babysitting for a 3-year-old for parents' evening and day events.

Duties include ensuring that he eats meals provided, read books, play board games and participate in educational enrichment provided by the parents. Other duties may include washing of family's laundry.

Preference for nannies who have a vehicle, first aid certification, and a history of taking care of toddlers with strong references. Being bilingual is a plus, but must be fluent in English.

My son enjoys bike rides, music and afternoon walks.

A little bit about us

I had my baby girl in mid-February 2019, but I am on an extended maternity leave until March 2020. At that time, my daughter will be a year old, and I’ll be looking for a nanny share. We live in upper NW near the Silver Spring border. I know it’s still a little bit away, but...Would love to find a bilingual nanny share and split hosting duties. Thanks!

A little bit about us

We are looking for someone to help us care for our sweet 4-month-old baby girl while we work. We are flexible on hours as right now we are balancing work while caring from her and could use some entirely focused hours so if the hours mentioned are not ideal we may be able to work it out. Our daughter is Peruvian American and we would love if someone could also speak with her in Spanish and be familiar with the culture. We have two cats as well who are very friendly and don’t need care during the day but we are looking for someone comfortable with having them around.

What Are Bilingual Nanny Jobs?

Bilingual nanny jobs are positions where speaking a second language is a valued part of the role. Families may want their children to learn a language, keep up a language spoken at home, or communicate with a grandparent or relative. Your language skills can set you apart from other candidates and may support a higher rate.

Types of Bilingual Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Some families want you to speak only the second language with the children, and others want a mix throughout the day. Responsibilities can include childcare, meals, activities, and reading and playing in the second language. Jobs can be full-time, part-time, or live-in, so check the schedule and expectations in each posting.

How to Interview for Bilingual Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • Which language do you want me to use, and how often?
  • How fluent do you expect me to be?
  • Do the children already speak the language?
  • Are there other adults in the home who speak it?
  • Is language teaching part of the role, or just everyday conversation?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
