My experience with special needs children...
I've cared for children ages 2-17 that have been diagnosed with Autism at least. Some kids had multiple disabilities such as pica disorder, ADD/ADHD, OCD, cerebral palsy, and dwarfism.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was imaginary cooking with my 3 y/o girl at the time. We were making barbecue. The griddle made a sizzling sound, and whenever you pressed down, the noise would be louder. My toddler was so keen on pressing on the 'bacon' but would make a yelp every time the noise got louder. Her mom came in her room to see why she was yelling, and once she did we both busted into laughter. Mom and I kept trying to help her turn off the griddle but she wouldn't let us. She was like a mini Gordon Ramsey!
