Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was extremely lucky to have figured out my passion for working with children early, and I have been working in child care environments for as long as I could work. I currently am a youth support worker, working mainly with adolescents. In the past, I have babysat for multiple families, worked as a full time camp counselor, and have worked as a behavior technician for two companies where I worked with children of all ages who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disorders. I have worked as an instructor teaching STEM topics through Lego builds and as an activities facilitator at the YMCA of the Rockies in Colorado, so I have been blessed with many opportunities. I've also volunteered at many schools and women and children's shelters.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to do arts and crafts, I'm a huge fan of the outdoors and have a ton of game ideas. I know a little bit about sports and video games too!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children and adolescents with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and other developmental disorders. I have experience with safety care training and applied behavior analytics, and am currently earning my Masters of Science in developmental psychology.
