Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have over 10 years of childcare experience, including both babysitting and long-term nannying. For the last four years, I’ve worked consistently with the same family of three children, supporting them through different stages of growth and development. I also spent time working in a children’s home with kids ages 6–18 who were in transitional living placements. Many of them had challenging behaviors, so I gained strong skills in patience, de-escalation, coregulation, and trauma-informed care.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love play-based learning with puzzles, flash cards, games. I love to be outside exploring what nature has to offer. Arts and crafts are my favorite thing to plan and explore with kiddos. I also love going to playgrounds, museums, etc. Getting out and about in our beautiful state is always so nice.
My experience with special needs children...
I spent about 3 years working in a children’s home with kiddos ages 6-18. Many of our residents had challenging behaviors. I received extensive training in de-escalation, co-regulation, and trauma-informed care, while also honing my skills in patience and understanding.
The most important part about being a nanny...
So very many sweet moments with the many kiddos I’ve had the pleasure of knowing in my lifetime. One of my favorites was when my little 3-year-old informed me: “I have a mom, a dad, and an Auggie!”. It was so very sweet and sticks with me to this day. Being able to pseudo-parent these kiddos has brought immense joy to my life.
