Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 5 younger siblings, and I helped raise 4 of them when they were born up until I moved out a couple years ago. They’re now 11, 9, 8, and 4. I helped pick them up from school and with their homework, cook dinner and clean when I needed to, etc.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I grew up enjoying playing board games, coloring and drawing, reading, and playing dolls or something with my older siblings, so I applied that to my younger siblings as well. Video games too, but I know some parents don’t always like their kids to play video games all the time, so I go by what is allowed. I’ve always enjoy arts and crafts, I think it really builds a child’s creativity and ability to think outside the box (I don’t do glitter, though. Or paint, depending on the mess level) Swimming is great, and I’m not a fan of the heat but I’d take my siblings to parks and playgrounds and would normally get a snack after.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part would be to always be there for the child when they need me, and to make sure they feel safe. Whether they scrape their knee or need a hug, or just anything, I find it really important to always be open minded about how a child feels and to be there for them. I don’t intend to take the place or role of a parent, but I am always happy to be a firm presence in a child’s life that they can depend on for anything.
