Being someone who the child / children feel safe around and being able to create a fun and loving environment for them and the parents. Building relationships with the children and parents and feeling like apart of the family is so important to me.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked in a Before and After school program for 4 years as a "one on one" leader with special needs children. I was specifically with one child who had autism, but was trained and med delegated for multiple other children when needed.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The past 2 years I have been taking care of 2 families with babies 9-18 months old. It's such a rewarding age to be able to help them walk, talk and learn everyday skills. I have built a such a strong connection with them and watching them / be apart of them hitting major milestones is the best feeling.
