Hi! My name is Abby, and I’m a caring, responsible, and fun-loving nanny with experience working with kids of all ages. I have a background in lifeguarding, swim instruction, and customer service, besides nannying jobs. I’m currently studying communication with a minor in business at UCCS. I absolutely love working with children—whether it’s helping with homework, planning fun activities, or just being a supportive and positive presence in their lives. I’ve also been CPR/First Aid certified however it has expired so I have to get it again. Im a strong swimmer, and very comfortable with pets (I have a bunny myself!). More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have several years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. I taught swim lessons to kids ranging from toddlers to teens, helping them build both skills and confidence in the water. As a lifeguard, I also supervised children during swim sessions and day camps, always prioritizing their safety. I’ve babysat for family friends and neighbors, handling everything from mealtime and playtime to bedtime routines. Additionally, I’ve volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club, where I supported youth in after-school programs, and with The Resource Exchange, assisting children with developmental disabilities. These experiences have deepened my passion for childcare and taught me how to connect with kids in meaningful, supportive ways.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love planning fun and creative activities! Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, reading stories together, playing imaginative games, and spending time outdoors—whether that’s going for walks or playing at the park. I also enjoy helping with homework, organizing fun learning games, and (when possible) doing simple kid-friendly baking or cooking projects. Since I have a background in swim instruction, I’m also happy to supervise and play in the water when appropriate. My goal is always to keep kids engaged, happy, and learning through play.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is building a trusting, supportive relationship with both the children and their family. Kids thrive when they feel safe, understood, and cared for, so I always strive to be a positive role model, a consistent presence, and someone they can rely on.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had the privilege of working with children with special needs through my volunteer work with The Resource Exchange. During that time, I supported children with developmental and intellectual disabilities by assisting with activities, providing encouragement, and helping create a safe, inclusive environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was babysitting two siblings who loved to play pretend. They turned the living room into a “zoo,” and we spent the whole afternoon creating animal habitats with blankets and toys, making tickets, and giving each other tours. Seeing how creative and excited they were—and how proud they felt showing off their “zoo”—was such a special reminder of how imaginative and joyful kids can be.
