The most important part about being a nanny...
is making sure my kids feel heard, seen, and cared for! Every child is different, and for me, taking the time to get to know them and figuring out what methods of communication and strategies work best for them is crucial. Plus, gaining a deeper understanding of each child means that they will have a better and more fun experience with me!
My experience with special needs children...
My youngest brother has ASD, and I've spent many years helping to take care of him, which has given me significant insight into what strategies can be most helpful in caring for autistic children. I've also worked with multiple children with learning disabilities and behavioral disorders like dyslexia and ADHD. I have experience helping kids of all ages, both with and without special needs, with schoolwork, emotional regulation, and behavior.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Seeing the kids learn new skills, apply emotional regulation tools we’ve worked on together, and experience the ridiculously things that kids manage to come up with are easily my favorite parts of the job :)
