A little bit about me

Hi! I am a 28 year old female with multiple years of experience working with children of all backgrounds, as well as cleaning houses. Growing up, my step mother cleaned houses for a living. I grew up in a spotless home and was taught properly which products to use on what surfaces, organizational skills, etc. I am on the final step of the process to become a Registered Behavior Technician with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. I am currently working at an ABA center with children age 2-6 who struggle with ASD. Previously I worked at an inpatient psychiatric facility which had a developmentally delayed unit as well as an adolescent unit. I also worked in a residential group home for children in state custody awaiting permanent placement. Many who suffered from a complexity of mental health and behavioral disorders. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am the oldest sister/cousin/niece/grandchild so I have always been the designated baby sitter. I have also been employed over the years at a YMCA after school program, Little People’s College, Saint Vincent’s Services, Fuller Hospital, and currently work for Kaleidoscope Family Solutions as a Behavior Technician.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging in any type of activity the child loves, such as a themed craft of their favorite characters, a science experiment ( child safe of course! ), being in nature and learning to appreciate all of the different things we can find in our own backyards, imaginative play, and any type of play where I can implement learning in a fun and engaging way!

Keeping the child safe first and foremost, having fun of course, being creative, and implementing learning and Daily Life Skills into every activity to set the child up for success in the future.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are when the children draw me photos to keep or I get a message from the parents that the child is asking when I’ll be back to see them! Those always put a smile on my face!
