Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love activities that keep kids active, creative, and engaged. Some of my favorites include outdoor adventures, nature walks, arts and crafts, reading together, baking, and board games. I enjoy finding activities that match each child's interests while helping them build confidence and independence.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a nanny is creating an environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued. When kids know they're cared for, they're more confident to learn and be themselves.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with children of all abilities, including children with special needs, through both my volunteer work and my time as a summer camp counselor. I've learned the importance of meeting each child where they are, being patient, adapting activities to fit individual needs, and creating an environment where every child feels included, supported, and valued. I strive to build trust with each child while working closely with families to provide the care and encouragement that best supports them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments working with kids is seeing them accomplish something they didn't think they could do. At summer camp, I loved watching campers who were nervous to try a new activity gain confidence by the end of the week. For example, one camper never swam because they were scared of the water... but one day after some guidance, they got in and joined all the other kids. Seeing the excitement on his face when he realized they were capable of more than they expected is one of the most rewarding parts of working with children.

Hi! My name is Lena Richardson. I am a 20 year old sophmore at Michigan State University. I have worked with kids for the past 6 years, and I absolutely love it. I have worked at a daycare, as a nanny, and as a children's swim instructor. I am also the oldest of three siblings, which has largely contributed to my love of kids and caring for them. I am on my church's worship team and am majoring in psychology to eventually become a therapist! For fun, I love hiking, working out, songwriting, and spending time with friends! I have a flexible school schedule this semester and would love to help some families out with childcare.
