My experience with special needs children...
My 7 year old cousin was born with a rare genetic disorder known as MCM (Megalencephaly-capillary malformation syndrome) she had a trach tube for the first 4 years of her life. I have had the opportunity to spend some summers as well as go on vacations with her and her family as their nanny. She is an incredible and beautiful soul who lights up the lives of her friends, family and strangers. I am extremely lucky to be close to her.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is when I would get to read books with the kids towards the end of my day. My favorite game is the accent challenge where they come up with different accents for me to read the story in. My british accent is still subpar, even though I grew up with my mom watching Downtown Abbey and The Great British Bake Off.
