I've been a preschool/toddler teacher for two years in the okemos public schools. Now I'm hoping to transfer my skills into a more personal career and work one on one with families. I have classroom management experience, conflict resolution skills, and lesson planning experience. I would love to teach and care for your child/children. Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I'm a very artsy and outdoorsy caregiver! I've always enjoyed playing sports with my more active kids as well as coming up with a variety of art and sensory projects to have fun with inside. I also enjoy doing science experiments with the children in my care!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is creating a warm and safe space for a child to feel cared for. It's important for every child's development to make strong connections with the adults around them. They need to feel loved, safe and understood in order to develop into a wonderful person. I believe that with the skills I've gained as a teacher and care giver I'm the perfect candidate to work with you and your child/children to make a warm and loving environment for them to grow.
My experience with special needs children...
I've cared for several children with ADHD as well as children with high and low-functioning autism. I'm most comfortable with children that have ADHD or high-functioning autism.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I honestly don't know if I can pick one moment! I've had sweet and funny moments with many of the children in my care. One that does come to mind though was when I had my kiddos coloring paper plate flowers and one of kids announced very proudly that it was for "Ms.Ailee!" (I still have it hung up on my fridge a year later).
