More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Most recently, I worked as a nanny for a family for nearly two years, caring for two boys aged 2 years and 2 months (4 and 2 when I stopped nannying them). Additionally, I interned at a children's therapy center where I worked with many lovely children during their various therapies (including speech, occupational, and physical therapy). Before that, I was a para-professional for a child with Down Syndrome during the summer, where I would build learning programs for him.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When it comes to activities, I love anything that involves crafting/art, learning, or play. My favorite thing to do with kids is projects, whether that's an outdoor scavenger hunt or making homemade slime.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny to me is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel supported and understood, and the parents feel good about the care their kids are getting. I care deeply about building trust with both the children and their parents, and being someone kids feel comfortable learning, growing, and being themselves around.
My experience with special needs children...
I have never nannied for a special needs child, but I have ample experience working with children with various special needs. Specifically, I worked as a summer support member for a child with Down syndrome and interned at a children's therapy center (where I worked with kids that ASD, Down syndrome, anxiety, speech impediments, and more). Because of this, I feel confident and comfortable that I could nanny a child with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While I have so many favorite moments as a nanny, the thing that has consistently brought me the most joy is how excited the kids get to see me. Watching their little faces light up when we get to spend time together is so very sweet.
