This past summer I lived on the Oregon coast working as a camp counselor. I primarily worked with girls ages 7-9, but also spent some time with 4-6 year olds and 11-13 year old girls. At camp I led campers on camping trips where we cowboy-camped and other activities that took us out of our comfort zone. Overall it was an amazing experience and I hold it dear to my heart!

My experience with special needs children...
During my time as a camp counselor, I dealt with challenging behaviors in regards to home-sickness and emotionally regulation. In addition, I faced a lot of challenges with neurodivergent campers, including campers with autism, anxiety and campers with challenging home lives.
