I’ve been caring for kids in some way or another for most of my life—babysitting throughout my teen years, volunteering at a preschool, and most recently nannying a sweet newborn until she was about 15 months old. Each of those experiences taught me so much, from understanding early childhood needs to building real bonds with the kids I care for. It’s work that feels really natural to me, and I truly love it.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing fun, engaging activities with kids that help them learn and grow while having a great time. Some of my favorite things to do include baking simple treats together, reading books, playing outside, doing crafts, and getting creative with imaginative play. I also enjoy incorporating music, movement, and little learning moments into our daily routines. My goal is always to make kids feel happy, safe, and encouraged to be themselves.
The most important part about being a nanny...
In my opinion, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where kids feel secure and free to be themselves. Building trust—both with the children and their parents—is everything. I think it’s such a privilege to play a role in a child’s growth and everyday life, and I always aim to bring patience, warmth, love, and a sense of fun to that role.
