Hi ! My name is Alexia (she/her), and I’ve been working as a babysitter and nanny for over 9+ years. I studied child development in school, although I did not finish [yet!]. I also have the added experience of having grown up in my mother’s pre-school classes all my life.

I see working with children as a unique opportunity to exercise patience and creativity. While patience is self- explanatory, creativity can be in the form of arts and crafts, creatively explaining something to a child, or even using creativity to encourage a certain behavior from a child. I also just love to bring a smile to a child’s face and make them feel safe to be their full selves!

I mentioned some key elements about nannying in my bio, but I would also like to add that working with children also helps me to get in touch with the more childish parts of myself and I love that aspect as well !

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have nearly as much experience with special needs children, although I do have a general awareness that a special needs child would need the freedom to stim, or move their body in a way that feels comforting, and may have a lower tolerance for certain noises or abrupt changes in routine.
