A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Alexis, and I first found my passion for caring for kids when I was introduced to Caleb. He needed full time personal care, as he was autistic, epileptic, and had many health obstacles. From the time he was 7, until he was 11 years old, I cared for him in his home, full time, through a health care agency. Work was never work, as I got a buddy and so did he. I love animals, art, and the outdoors. I am passionate about cooking, very clean- conscious, and full of experience and fun. Like a lot of women my age, I began babysitting in my early teens. I would babysit infants until they were in middle school, being the only babysitter they ever had. I’m very proud of all of the kiddos I watched grow up, most of which are still in touch today. I was at one time CPR and First Aid certified, but it has expired. I look forward to talking to your family!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I worked with a child with special needs for many years. While everyday was a new memory, one specific day was the best. It was rainy, he was grumpy, wouldn’t take his meds, wanted to live in his emotions. He really loved “inflatables” (like those inflatable lawn decorations, big and small) and he owned about 200 of them. Sometimes, even his favorite inflatable wasn’t enough to pull him out of his funk. Not a single inflatable was good enough at the time. So, I decided to get creative. We hopped in the car, and headed to the closest indoor bounce house arena. He played for hours, up and down the bouncy slide, made friends, and it started a tradition of going there on rainy days.
