Hello! My name is Aliah Azam, and I am currently in school to become a Physician Assistant! I have been a pediatric CNA for almost a year now and I am CPR certified. I enjoy being outdoors and fitness. I have babysat children from 0-9 years old! I also have experience with children who have special needs. I prioritize patience and empathy when I have a child in my care, I also prioritize fun! Children are naturally curious, and sometimes it’s okay to let them be involved, even if a task takes longer than it should! I will be in summer school from 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday, Friday-Sunday I have open availability!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible, from walks, going to the park, yoga, and just reading outside. I also like puzzles and crafts. I try not to watch any tv or even use my phone when babysitting children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is PATIENCE. I cannot preach this enough! These kiddos are starting to navigate their lives and do not know any better. I always try to approach in a friendly yet firm manner when children are “misbehaving”. I do not believe in time out as a punishment, I believe in taking a break while we practice calming down and asking how they are feelings. I also believe in redirection and staying consistent with what I tell kiddos.

I have a lot of experience with special needs children, from my job and from family babysitting!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was at work trying to help one of the kiddos take a nap during nap time but he just refused! So I then just let him be for a moment and started putting the other kids to bed. Afterwards I went back to his bed and noticed he was fast asleep, after watching him he woke up and said I’m just kidding and I couldn’t help but actually let out a laugh and he started laughing.
