In high school, I volunteered in the church nursery. This was an eye opening and exciting experience for me. When I got to college, I worked as a nanny for 1.5 years, caring for two children, ages 4-6.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe physical activity is very important for children: walking, playing & practicing any sport they play, taking them to the park, etc. Creative activities are fun and important also: coloring, building toys (Legos for example), and painting. I love reading to children, it is vital to their literary development. I also enjoy teaching and helping children learn how to become more independent.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is: care, honesty, and being a role model for the children. I fully understand and love being able to help families give the appropriate care and attention to children. It’s an honor for me to be this person for a family. Punctuality and reliability are also two very important characteristics of a nanny I value.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When my position ended and I was moving out to California, the children I was nannying were going to miss me tremendously. That was really heart-warming and equally tough for me to leave.
