A little bit about me

Hello my name is Alicia. I go by Ali. Many years ago I work as a full time nanny for two separate families. With each I was there soon after birth. I was with the first family for 4 yrs until their little girl went to preschool. I was with the second family for 3 yrs. I serve with the kids ministry at church. I care for newborns up to two yrs. I’m 50 yrs old. My husband and I live in a home in NLR. We have been together for 14 yrs. We serve in many different areas of our church. I was not able to have children of my own, but we have a Weimaraner who is our baby. I love children of all ages. In my past experiences I wasn’t just a babysitter, I became part of the family. I realize it must be hard for parents to leave their children with someone new. I believe communication with the parents is very important. Discussing your parenting style, how you discipline, house rules, and what works for each individual child. Caring for children brings me so much joy!

I enjoy reading, taking a picnic to the park, swimming, playing games, painting, doing puzzles and playing hide and seek.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As your nanny I want to abide by your instruction to provide consistent parenting for your child. Nurturing your little ones to be kind, confident and happy. I will provide safety, consistent love, encouragement, teaching and lots of fun. Age appropriate education and exploration are important to create an environment of learning. I am also happy to do things which will provide more time for you with your little one; laundry dishes, errands, anything to help out (as time provides).

My experience with special needs children...

I worked at AEDD ( AR Enterprise for the Developmentally Disabled. I also worked at APF (AR Pediatric Facility). I have cared for children of all ages and love being a nanny.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have been very fortunate to have become like family with many of my families I’ve been placed with. I have so many funny and endearing moments over the years. It’s so hard to pick one. I think watching a child get excited over something new, hearing children laugh (the best) and witnessing them learn and grow are a few things I love.
