Hi! I’m Alison, a professional nanny with nearly seven years of childcare experience and a strong specialization in newborn and infant care. I’m a trained newborn care specialist and pediatric sleep consultant, and became a mom to my own daughter in March 2026. I love the problem-solving side of infant care and helping families navigate feeding, sleep, routines, development, and all of the changes that come with a baby’s first year. In addition to my private nanny experience, I briefly worked full-time in an in-home daycare. I also have professional training as a newborn care specialist and pediatric sleep consultant, with additional education in newborn development, infant feeding, and sleep.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Since I work primarily with infants, most of my favorite activities are simple and centered around development and exploration. I love allowing for ample free movement with floor time and tummy time. Reading books, listening to and making music, exploring different textures and sounds, practicing emerging skills, and giving babies plenty of freedom to discover their environment. I also love getting out of the house for walks, library story times, swimming, baby classes, museums, parks, and everyday errands.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building enough trust with both the child and their parents to become a true part of their team. I want parents to feel confident that I know their child, understand their needs, and can make good decisions even when they aren’t there to give me instructions. With children, I think the best care balances connection with independence, structure with flexibility, and responsiveness with clear boundaries. My goal has always been to help make family life easier while giving children the consistency, security, and space they need to thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don’t think I could pick one specific moment! Some of my favorites have been the little breakthroughs after working through something challenging with a baby, whether that was finally getting a baby who had only contact napped sleeping independently in their crib, seeing feeding improve after weeks of troubleshooting, or watching a baby master a skill we had been working toward. There’s something incredibly rewarding about knowing a child so well that you can recognize what they need, make an adjustment, and then watch everything start to click.
