Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have cared for two children in a private home located in Montecito CA for an average of six hours per week. In this position, I looked after a three-year-old and a five-year-old with special needs. I encouraged good choices using positive reinforcement and assisted children with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and dressing.
In addition to tending to the children's general needs and providing supervision for safety in day-to-day activities, I prepared meals, managed their bedtime routines, and provided light housework as needed.
I have worked at Cold Spring School (located in Montecito CA) as an afterschool daycare assistant for three years. Here I have developed personal relationships with children of all ages and watched them grow. I monitor the play ground, set up activities, and engage in safe, fun play with children ages 3-13.
During the summer I work as a Recreation Leader where I lead children ages 4-13 in outdoor activities and monitored their play.

I have been a babysitter (November 2022- current) for a 5 year old girl who has been diagnosed with Neurofibromatoses Type 1 as well as Autism. As I hope to become an Occupational Therapist, I take special needs very seriously and work very hard at providing the best experience for the child as well as other children in the home. I have learned how to be firm but kind because I believe that safety should always be a top priority. I am known for being very patient and hardworking, as well as adapting to the child's needs so that they can enjoy any activity while in a safe environment. Working with a special needs child has been my privilege.
