Hi, my name is Allison! I am looking for a job that aligns well with school. I attend SEMO but am usually free after 3pm during the week and any time on weekends. I am comfortable with children I have volunteered at at-risk schools and vbs camps. I work well with special needs children and adults, one of my immediate family members has a slow learning disability and has taught me a lot about patience and understanding. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

-Worked at Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation and led multiple children camps for ages 4-11.
-Volunteered at an at-risk school called Talitha Koum. I helped with lunch and snack time, nap time, recess, and usually a small art activity. If you are not familiar with this organization I highly recommend looking it up I enjoyed every moment volunteering there.
-I have babysat or friends and family usually aged 6-10 usually just watching over and sometimes making snacks or meals.
- volunteered at Oak Ridge Church where I worked with preschool children during vacation bible school. My roles included leading bathroom trips, handing out snacks, teaching songs and bible verses, and picking up after the children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When the weather is nice I enjoy sidewalk-chalk or taking a walk around the neighborhood. Inside I enjoy singing, dancing, coloring! Depending on the child’s age it is fun to have them help me prepare meals, it gives children a feeling of accomplishment and usually we have fun along the way.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked for the Cape Girardeau Parks and rec center and lead multiple children’s camps, some classes included special needs children who needed extra demonstration, attention, or time in order to complete activities. A member of my family is also special needs specifically slow learning disability and cerebral palsy. I excel at calmly talking to him during fits of frustration and am able to connect with him through art, music, Video games, and taekwondo.
