Spending time with little ones has always been one of my favorite things to do! Over the years, I’ve volunteered more than 100 hours at a daycare, where I got to play games, read stories, help keep the classroom tidy, and even teach some beginner English and Spanish. The most important part about being a nanny...

While volunteering at a daycare, I spent my days playing with toddlers, reading them books, and helping clean up. At first, it was hard to tell if I was truly making a difference. But then, I met a little girl who rarely responded when anyone spoke to her. One day, while reading to her, I decided on a whim to try speaking in Spanish. I’ll never forget the way her face lit up the pure joy in her eyes as she turned toward me was unforgettable. In that moment, I realized how even the smallest gesture can mean the world to a child. She may not remember it, but I’ll always carry that moment with me, knowing I made a difference in her day.
