In my opinion the most important thing is to ensure the safety of the children at all times. As much as I want to make sure the children are enjoying themselves, I believe safety must come before the fun.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children would be the volunteer work that I did at school. I started in a program that is called best buddies my fifth grade year of elementary and continued all the way till my junior year of high school. During this time I was able to spend time with the children during my lunch and assist them after school. More recent experience I’ve had was babysitting a six-year-old girl that has and downs and ASD three times a week. I worked with her for about 4 months until she was able to go back to school for in person learning.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment was when I got to take one of the little girls to the beach with my dog Komet. She always saw pictures of him and wanted to meet him and one day I had the chance to bring him so I surprised her at school and took them both to the beach and we ran in and out of the water with Komet and it was the cutest thing to see her with that big smile playing with my dog.
