A little bit about me

Hi my name is Alma, I'm a current full time student at San Francisco State University where I'm working to earn my bachelor's degree in Child Adolescent Development with concentration in School Age and families. I’m currently working with a non profit called Mission Graduates. I have experience working at bilingual immersion elementary, as a 2nd grade after school teacher. This non profit is creating a college-going culture in the Mission District. Just to share a bit about my job, as an afterschool teacher, my job is to execute lessons that align with SFUSD common core. This includes implementing creative and unique ways to engage students but also assure them that our classroom is a safe space.

I am currently working on paying off my school debt and I am looking for evening/weekend work to reach my goal. I am a fast learner and have a lot of patience. I love to try new art activities and explore new places. I have an enormous passion of working with kiddos of all ages.
