I have two years of hands on childcare experience as a live in nanny for a wonderful family. I began caring for their daughter when she was just one month old and continued caring for her as she grew into a two year old. During this time, I gained valuable experience caring for an infant and toddler, including preparing meals, maintaining routines, assisting with daily activities, providing a safe and nurturing environment, and supporting her development. It is important to be patient, dependable, and attentive to each child’s individual needs while also encouraging them to learn, grow, and become confident in themselves. I believe a nanny is not only there to provide care, but also to build a trusting relationship with the child and become someone they feel safe and happy around. Being able to support a child’s development while bringing joy and positivity into their everyday life is what makes being a nanny so meaningful to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience providing care and support for an autistic young adult. Over the summer, I worked with a family caring for their 20 year old son, which gave me valuable experience understanding and supporting the individual needs of someone with autism. This experience helped me develop greater patience, attentiveness, flexibility, and understanding. I always strive to create a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment while providing dependable care and support.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny has been watching a little girl I cared for grow and reach so many important milestones. I had the opportunity to be there when she crawled for the first time, stood for the first time, took her first steps, and said her first word. Being able to witness these special moments and know that I was there to support and encourage her along the way was incredibly heartwarming. It reminded me of how rewarding nannying can be and how special it is to become a part of a child’s growth and development. Those memories are something I will always cherish.
