The most important part about being a nanny...
Every decision we make on our kids has such a great impact on them and their development. "Take a breath" is something I firmly go by. My kids would throw tantrums all the time. My way of working through it with them was by sitting with them while they went through their emotions; waiting until they can catch their breath, work on a quick breathing exercise and a sip of water so we can work through their issue together and find out what it really is that they need.

Previously I worked in early childhood education centers and as a temp nanny for families on vacation in the Lake Tahoe area. I also have an associates in Early Childhood Ed and have been babysitting for seventeen years. On the Urban Sitter nanny app, I have over fifty reviews with a five star rating. While nannying I follow a child led approach and believe children should be able to explore the world around them and engage with their great community. The one year old I currently nanny and I go on outings to places such as the aquarium or indoor place space at least twice a week. We also read stories, listen to music and spend time outside daily. When he was receiving occupational therapy through early intervention I attended his appointments with him and helped him practice his necessary exercises to aid his developmental. I also provided overnight when necessary.
