I have cared for young children ages 2-6 with autism. I understand they need an outlet to fully express themselves, and I try my best to work with them to build their confidence and find their strengths.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was taking care of the last little girl at my position, it took her a while to warm up to me because her and her mom were practically joined at the hip (as they should be) and when she finally learned to trust me and wanted me to be in her presence, she didn’t need to depend on mom as much because she knew I would also be there for her no matter what she needed. It was a good feeling of knowing I could comfort her in her worst.
