A little bit about me

I have been married for 33 years, I homeschooled 3 beautiful daughters. I love dogs, making crafts, watching romantic comedies, and enjoying quiet evenings at home. My family means the world to me and I enjoy helping others families thrive as well.

In addition to raising and homeshcooling my girls, I was also a full time caregiver for my 2 nieces for about 13 years; I volunteered in the children’s ministry of my church, also for 13 yrs. Most recently, for almost 5 yrs, I’ve worked as a lead teacher at a small preschool in Mesa.

I have a passion for caring for children while also offering them educational activities to learn, and play rather than scream time. I love to keep a structured day full of fun learning experiences, activities, reading stories, playing and rest time.

It’s fun to jump into the world of a child and learn through their interests. The curiosity and wonder of a child makes exploring new things come to life for me as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love Interactive Reading, exploring literacy and fun characters and positive messages. I enjoy learning in the environment we are in, taking time to notice nature, or whatever is around us. Colors and counting whatever is around us, so learning happens during play. Exploring through sensory experiences and fine motor skills. Songs and and learning activities. Arts, crafts, puzzles. I am not big on screen time, so if I use media it is limited and purposeful. I also enjoy diving into the interests of the child, while also introducing them to new ideas and topics.

I am also a loving and kind caregiver with firm boundaries. I teach children with kindness, love and respect and I help them to learn how to treat others with kindness, love and respect as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To love and care for children well, so they feel safe, seen, valued and learn to be happy, content, confident, helpful, kind and grateful kids. My goal is to love them well, teach them some stuff as we go along, and have fun doing it, while Mom and Dad take care of the stuff outside the home.

My experience with special needs children...

I have some experience with special needs. ADHD and Autism, and kids that have big personalities.

Understanding their needs and triggers is key into building a trusting relationship to help them grow and learn as they develop. I have worked with several special needs kids, and have gained experience while doing so that helps me learn more with each child. Each special child has unique needs and I work toward understand them, and meeting them, while also helping kids grow and learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments caring for children is inter acting with them as we color or play and talk about what they are interested in. Kids are funny and smart and always entertaining.

I also love to encourage them, cheer them on, and see growth and success as they learn.
