To me children being indoor and outdoor is very important. Children need the fresh air, not be stuck to a screen. They need to see, play and run outdoors. Interaction is required the entire time. Children learn by play and observation and should interact with whoever is caring for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite experience was when I was caring for a 3 year old and he was helping me garden. We talked about plants, flowers and trees. I gave him directions of how to help me with the pot, soil and herb. He was fascinated and filled of questions. He couldn’t wait to see the plant grow and to do it all over again. It was all he could talk about for hours. I brought the topic to when he colored. We traced over the leaves with paper so he could see the line small lines of the leaf. When we took our walk he couldn’t care all the leaves he kept picking up. It was so great to try this simple task and how it blossomed into a wonderful educational experience. It was so sweet to see his smile from cheek to cheek.

My first experience with children dates back to college where I worked for a daycare center helping take care of toddlers and preschoolers. I later went on to pursue a PhD in Science. It wasn't until after I had my own children that I realized being around children is what truly makes me happy. While taking care of my children from home, I also worked part time as a newborn photographer and got an additional 8 years of experience handling, feeding, and changing babies. I've also spent time volunteering in all of my children's classrooms and I have been in charge of a variety of children of all ages. I'm comfortable helping with light housekeeping, animals, and driving.
