Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience working with children in several different settings, including mentoring middle school students, tutoring, and caring for pediatric patients as a Medical Assistant. Through mentoring and tutoring, I learned how to build trusting relationships with children while providing patience, encouragement, and academic support. My pediatric healthcare experience has made me especially comfortable caring for children and communicating with both kids and their parents. I am attentive, patient, dependable, and able to remain calm when unexpected situations arise. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy helping children feel comfortable, supported, and confident!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am very active and love finding fun ways to keep kids engaged! I enjoy outdoor activities, playing sports, going to the park, and anything that gets us moving and having fun. I also love arts and crafts, games, and creative activities. For kids who enjoy them, I’m always up for dress-up, playing pretend, doing hair, and other fun girly activities! I’m also happy to help with homework, reading, and educational activities. I enjoy getting to know each child’s personality and interests and finding activities they genuinely enjoy. My goal is for the children I care for to have fun, stay engaged, and always feel safe, comfortable, and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is being present and attentive. When a child is in my care, I want their parents to feel comfortable knowing that I am truly watching over them and treating their safety as my top priority. My healthcare background has made me very aware of how quickly little accidents can happen, so I believe in staying engaged and paying attention rather than just being in the same room. I also want children to feel safe with me emotionally—to know they can come to me, talk to me, and be themselves. At the end of the day, I want every parent to feel confident that I will care for their child with the same attention and concern I would want for someone I love.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with children with special needs has primarily been through my work as a healthcare provider. Through that experience, I have learned the importance of patience, respect, and meeting each child where they are. I believe in speaking directly to children, including them in conversations about their care, and never assuming that a diagnosis or disability defines what they are capable of. I strive to help every child feel heard, respected, comfortable, and confident while adapting my approach to their individual needs. I am also always willing to learn from parents and follow the routines, accommodations, and strategies that work best for their child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While I haven’t worked as a nanny yet, some of my favorite moments are with my two-year-old goddaughter. I absolutely love playing dress-up with her, doing pretend makeup, being silly, and seeing her little personality come out! Spending time with her reminds me how much I enjoy creating fun, happy moments for children and watching them learn, laugh, and explore the world around them.
