I have over 4 years of experience caring for children with special needs, specializing in ASD. I worked as a behavior technician, helping my client's meet their goals under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I have helped my clients with skill acquisition, behavior reduction, social skills, daily living skills, etc. I have experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques to ensure my kiddo and myself are safe. Before my journey as a RBT, I was just a babysitter, making sure my kiddos were fed, clean, safe, followed their parent's set routines, etc.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love getting the kiddos engaged in nature activities, arts and crafts, reading, library trips, playing board and card games, and overall just getting creative with the things around us to ensure the kids are getting a well rounded childhood experience. If parent's don't mind, I also love getting the kids involved in meal prepping and cleaning.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a strong passion, dedication, and commitment to kids with special needs. I have experience with children diagnosed with Anxiety disorders, ADHD, Autism, and related developmental and behavioral disabilities. For over 4 years, I worked under the supervision of a BCBA to help my client's meet their goals. Each kiddo is different and over the years I have adapted myself to meet the needs of every client I have worked with. Specifically through ensuring we have established trust, positive associations, and making myself a source of fun/enjoyment.
