I help in the Childrens ministry at my church, and I also have 7 little cousins I love to watch; (ranging from 1-9, I've helped with all of them since they were born.) I’m also nannying for a 10 month old right now but she’s starting daycare in the summer.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Keeping the children happy and safe is most important to me. I want the children to feel safe around me and like they can trust me. I'm always open to communication when there's disputes between two littles ones as well.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't particularly have experience with special needs children exactly, but I have dealt with very hyper-active children. My mother is also disabled (she had a stroke on [phone number hidden]) so I do however have experience with speech issues, (she has aphasia).

Working with children I always feel like a big sister role but with discipline when needed and the children grow to respect that. I started working as a teacher assistant. Working with children five years of age and under.It’s really beautiful to see the development of their personalities. Like from infant mode to them becoming their own person, I swear it’s when they learn to walk they just take off with everything. We included meal prep, diaper changes, curriculum, outdoor play, etc. The latest positions I’ve held were being a behavior health technician. We work 1 on 1 with students that have autism. Which included data collection, overall just the work we do is setting the children up to be functional on their own one day. In every case that is not always certain so we provide the best support needed for them and their parents. P.s. the pay rate I added is just an average of what we get paid but that is negotiable.
