A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Amber. I was born and raised in Coronado Ca. A military ( Navy) Brat, I’m one of 4 but in the middle and the only girl. I’ve been working as a Nanny since age 15. I’ve worked as a live in/out throughout the US. I currently work for two families one with a 2.5 yr old that I’ve been with for 2.5 yrs and the other for the past 6 yrs with four children age 5,7,9,11. They are aging out of needing a Nanny as they’re all heading off to school. I have experience working with children on the spectrum from mild to severe as well as other children with special needs. I am very patient, as well as able to set boundaries as needed. I have great lifelong relationships with many of my previous families.
I’d love the opportunity to get to know your family. I hold a current passport. I’m also background checked through DCFS to allow care for children is foster care. I can provide exceptional references and letters of recommendation upon request.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve worked in Multiple states on both sides of the U.S. as a live in and live out Nanny, I worked for about a year in a church daycare as well so caring for multiple children is something I handle very well. I have had between 1-10 children in my care at once

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love Visiting parks, play places, swimming, libraries, theatre, singing, reading, arts and crafts, museums, walks, sight seeing if on vacations, Beaches, just enjoying life and having fun. I don’t mind if children play on electronics or watch TV but I do try and limit them because it’s so much fun to explore and play outside of the little box.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe it’s to nurture a child’s creativity and personality. I believe in boundaries, manners and kindness. They should always feel loved and safe and will when in my care. I am a no screens Nanny as I can keep their interest through reading and play

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with autism and have a nephew who is on the spectrum. I have worked with children with mild to severe ADHD as well as children with Down Syndrome. I’m background checked through DCFS and can take care of children in the foster system. I have taken care of many foster children over the years. I have taken care of children who have seizures disorders and I’m open to learning and working with all children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are so many. I have cried with many kids, laughed with many kids and been thrown up on many times as a Nanny. I am still in contact with my first Nanny child that now has two children of her own as well. I think one of my favorites things is the multiple names I’ve been given over the years by my Nanny kids. I’m know as boo boo, hammer and bobber and the kids to this day still call me by these names, even if I don’t work for the family anymore.
