More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve been an assistant teacher at daycares twice, once as basically an intern and another as the actual assistant teacher. I had my own class half the day, made my own lesson plans. I’ve also nannied several times for different lengths of times. Another example is my older sister started having children when I was almost 12, I was living with her a lot of that time and helped raise her three children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, writing, any kind of art. Any type of learning activity. Especially about animals, the ocean or space.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part is making sure that the children are safe, taken care of and happy while their parents are busy with something else. I really believe all three of those are so important. Every child deserves all of those things and that’s always going to be my goal.

I have worked with children with different challenges including autism, ADHD, asthma and type one diabetes.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I brought a 2 year old flowers I found on my way into work once, when I got there her parents informed me she had been struggling all morning and was in her room crying about not having more TV time. When she came out of her room because she heard my voice she saw the flowers in my hand, shrieked and ran to see them. When I told her they were for her, she gave me a big hand and started doing her usual morning dance party. Her reaction made my week.

My main goal is to teach your child as well as keep them safe. I understand there is a literacy problem in the USA so I’m really focused on teaching phonics and basic math skills. I don’t believe that kids should be sitting in front of a screen all day, it hurts their brain development more than people realize. When I watch kids I only allow 1 hour of supervised screen time.
I also encourage kids to eat healthy, I’m a no bs sitter. I have explained to the pickiest of kids why they have to eat the meal that has been prepared for them and I guess when you break down the nutritional facts and explain how each component helps them grow, they stop fighting about meal times.
