My experience with special needs children...
I nannied an autistic 4 year old boy, I was only 13 at the time but when he first came to me his family hadn’t taken the time to potty train to really speak to him so he was nonverbal and still in diapers. For months I worked with him and by the time he went to kindergarten he was fully potty trained and loved talking to people, as well as learning his alphabet, numbers, and colors. With special needs children they need a different type of care that is catered directly to them and the things they enjoy to help keep them engaged.
