I have worked at summer camps through Girl Scouts as a camp counselor for 5 years and also as a teachers aide in a kindergarten classroom where I helped with day to day activities. I have also worked as an after school teacher where I facilitated different activities everyday and helped with homework for children ranging from the ages of 5-13 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing any and all types of arts and crafts especially painting or anything DIY. I also love doing science experiments that always prompt inquiring minds! Or I enjoy outdoor activities whether it’s leisure walks or playing softball at nearby parks.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked as an aide in special need classrooms while in high school and was a part of the Buddies Club where we were able to go on all types of field trips and activities with our buddies from those special need classrooms.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment of being a nanny has to be when I was nannying for an 8 year old boy and we were picking up his friend who was confused on who I was. And the child I watched wasn’t quite sure how to explain it and just blurted out, “She’s a part of my family! We have fun together everyday!” And the other child looked confused at first and then just smiled at me and smiled at him.
