A little bit about me

Hi families! I am 23 and have recently moved to the Streeterville area to complete the 2nd & final year of my graduate program, where I am studying to get my master's in social work (specializing in children and families) at Loyola University Chicago! I have always absolutely loved children- so much I want to dedicate my career to them! I'll be completing my 2nd level field placement (virtually) at LIFT Chicago, which is a nonprofit that works with low-income families who have children in the critical early childhood years to help them achieve their financial goals (such as saving for college or being able to afford to move to a safer area) so that every child can pursue their dreams. I'm hoping to find some part time work either before or after my class schedule to help pay for graduate school and hoping I can find a family that needs some flexible help:) I'd love to talk about the rest of my experience/send my resume if this all seems like a good fit!

I've been nannying/babysitting for about 10 years now, but my career path has also provided me with the unique opportunity to work with families in a variety of professional contexts as well. I graduated from the University of Illinois in May of 2019 with a Bachelor's in child development and psychology. In undergrad, I worked with pediatric patients (newborns to age 17) in Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Carle Hospital, North Shore University Healthsystem, and in the Red Cross Children's Hospital of Cape Town, South Africa. I still work with Lurie's through the PeerWISE program, where I mentor families who are about to receive treatment. For two semesters in undergrad, I was a student teacher for preschoolers where I was responsible for creating and teaching lesson plans in the seven developmental domains, writing developmental portfolios and conducting parent-teacher conferences.
