More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started mother's helping in middle school and since then have been babysitting for many families. I babysit for multiple families in Brooklyn as well as near Boston. Some of those families I have sat for for six plus years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing many things with the kids I spend time with. Of many activities, I usually find myself doing arts and crafts with the kids, cooking and baking, playing "pretend" and dress-up, and day adventures and trips.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny alongside health and safety is being able to establish a connection with the child or children that is not a parent or friend relationship, but one right in the middle. That is a relationship that is special and unique.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children with autism, down syndrome, learning deficits, and children who need extra emotional and behavioral support. I know how to interact with and speak to children with all levels of ability along a wide range of domains.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when a young boy I was watching could not fall asleep so he sat with me on the couch in the living room. He fell asleep on my chest with a smile on his face and I did not move until the parents arrived back home about two hours later. I remember feeling so proud that I was able to provide comfort for him, as he was probably a bit worried because his parents were not home. Being able to connect with him, even in silence, was something that I have cherished to this day.

Babysitter Available in Medford, MA: Joey R.
Hello! My name is Joey and I’d be super excited to provide nanny services to you. I’m 23 years old and primarily serve children 4 years and older. I have 5 summers of experience working as a camp counselor at Friends of the Middlesex Fells camp, including in a supervisory role. I also have high school tutoring experience in math and English. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish, so if your child needs academic support in almost any area I’m happy to help them in this way as well.
My past employers have described me as calm, collected, go-with-the-flow, and said I “have a good head on my shoulders”. Being a nanny appeals to me because it means I can have a familiar relationship with a family and child, getting to know what strengths and challenges they face, and individualizing my support to help their future. Please let me know if you’re interesting or have any questions :)
