More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have done volunteer work at a church in the children department, I was a leader for 5 years. I also led/ hosted VBS for 2 years for ages 5-13. I was a PAL in high school which required us traveling to elementary schools to be a mentor and friend for kids going through hard times.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Something I do kids really enjoy is a cleaning scavenger hunt where I go around the house (usually while they are watching a quick show or eating) and I find stuff around the house that's out of place and describe it and then they find all of it, put it in a pile as fast as they can, I check it to make sure they have everything, then they have to put it away and make their rooms spotless, I think it's pretty fun, and it's also a way to keep things tidy without them knowing they are cleaning. I also have an outdoor game where I tell them how to walk/run when we go for walks around the neighborhood or play in the backyard, these tasks usually include things like speed walk, run, walk like a turtle, walk in a zig zag, etc. Anything arts and crafts is always fun, as well as Disney movie sing alongs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Ensuring that the kids and parents are happy while maintaining a schedule and routine and doing things requested by the parents. It's important to make sure you establish a healthy and fun relationship with the kids while still being another adult role in their life to make sure they are learning, listening, and growing to be well-rounded children and adults.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for a child with autism so I have minimal experience. I cared for him from the ages of 8-13

The most important part about being a nanny...

All of them, I love being a nanny the ups and the downs. I also love doing interactive activities with the kids like arts and crafts or things outdoors!
