A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Amelia. I have several years of hands-on experience caring for children from infancy through early school age, including twins and children with special needs. I’m naturally patient, calm, and attentive, and I love creating a warm, structured environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

I have a strong background in childhood development, toddler behavior, early learning activities, and daily routines. I’m confident balancing multiple children at once and providing full support to a household—everything from meals, bottles, diapers, nap schedules, and playtime to light cleaning, organization, and communication with parents.

I truly value building trust with families and becoming a reliable part of their daily rhythm.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve cared for children in several settings:
• Consistent nannying for families with children ages 10 months to 7 years
• Regular weekly care for two siblings (2 & 6) for over a year
• Toddler care including feeding, diapering, toileting, nap training, and behavior support
• Twins (2 years old) with different personalities and needs
• Special needs experience, including sensory sensitivities and developmental delays
• Household assistance such as meal prep, dishes, bottle washing, tidying kids’ spaces, laundry, and errands
• Interactive learning—colors, letters, shapes, early counting, fine-motor activities, sensory play
• Overnights & long days when needed

I’m used to juggling multiple needs at once and staying organized, calm, and flexible.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

• Outdoor play: walks, parks, exploring nature
• Sensory activities: kinetic sand, water play, bins, textures
• Arts & crafts: painting, coloring, stickers, themed crafts
• Early learning: shapes, numbers, letters, colors, matching games
• Pretend play: kitchen, dolls, dress-up, trucks, imaginative stories
• Music time: singing, rhythm games, simple instruments
• Movement: dancing, simple exercises, obstacle courses
• Quiet time: reading books, soft play, puzzles
• Routine-based activities: helping with simple tasks, clean-up games, snack preparation

I love mixing fun, creativity, and developmentally meaningful play.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, stable environment where children can learn, feel understood, and grow into themselves. A nanny becomes an extension of the family, so trust, communication, reliability, and respect are essential.

I believe in being someone children feel comforted by, parents feel supported by, and the home feels calmer because of. My goal is always to bring patience, structure, and warmth into each family’s routines.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with sensory sensitivities, developmental delays, and behavioral differences. My approach is gentle, patient, and individualized.

I focus on:
• understanding triggers and calming strategies
• using consistent routines
• modeling emotional regulation
• offering slow, predictable transitions
• providing sensory-friendly play
• using clear communication and choices
• being supportive during overstimulation or frustration

I’m comfortable working with parents to follow any preferred techniques or strategies they use at home or from therapists.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was helping a toddler who struggled with separation anxiety. Over time, I built trust with him through gentle routines, predictable transitions, and fun morning activities. After a few weeks, he ran to the door smiling when I arrived. Watching him gain confidence, feel secure, and look forward to our time together was incredibly rewarding.

Moments like that remind me why I love this work—supporting a child’s emotional growth is so special.
