Hello, my name is Amiee I’m 20 years old from warrenton Virginia. I’ve babysat children 1 month-4 years old. I grew up taking care of my 3 younger siblings so I like to say I have tons experience with different things. I took teens for tots in high-school which sparked my interest in wanting be a nanny. It also taught what it’s like to be a teacher and the county allowed me to be a second teacher in a classroom while attending school. I love the outdoors, playing, having fun and learning new things.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I took teens for tots which is a child educational class that the high schools allows students to take. During this course I was able to go to Greenville elementary school and work with the children. The main part of the class was taking care of 3 and 4 year olds and getting them ready for preschool and kindergarten. I would read, take them outside, paint with them, play board games and come up with assignments for them to do for the week. After passing all four courses of this class Dr.Jeck came to our class and gave us a piece of paper which allowed us to work throughout the Fauquier county school system while attending college.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going out to the park, going on walks, playing in the backyard wether it’s on a swing set or playing little games they like. I like painting with kids because it’s a learning experience to see what colors they like and it helps with motor skills. I also enjoy doing fun games with numbers and letters.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are many important part to being a nanny. For me they consist of safety, love, care, and family. Keeping your little ones safe is the main thing. Showing them love comes in many different ways from reading to them to playing with them, teaching them about things and listening to them. Treating your little ones like family is extremely important to me. I treat everyone's children as if they were my child or a sibling. Kids need a different type of care. You have to be able to adapt to their needs and show them that you're listening and that you hear them. The world is big and sometimes they can get overwhelmed but you have to be ready to step aside and know how to handle situations.

My experience with special needs children...

In high school I spent most of my time with the special needs kids. During some classes I would be pulled out and taken to the gym with them. I would sometimes even go to their class and do activities. I’d walk around the school with them and take them to the bus.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Taking my recent little boy to the park and being able to see him light up over the swings, running around the house playing tag and watching cocomelon together until we both fell asleep.
