A little bit about me

I have nannied/ babysat most of my adult life, as did my mother. Children are the best part of life and should be enjoyed for the small amount of time we can share with them. Was also a lifeguard and trained w how to react in a situation but am no longer certified.
I enjoy the arts and playing music, painting and believe children learn through these creative outlets to prepare for their adult lives.
I enjoy the messes in life but also understand the process of cleaning up after one's self.
I have coached basketball, tee ball and have also played these sports as well as many others. I enjoy gardening and teaching our youth the ways of our grandparents and how to behave and earn respect when it's given.

My experience with special needs children...

Worked w handi able most of life. My brother was an amputee. Neighbor was very special. I love the able minded as they are more "real" than the normal crowd these days. Determination underneath a hero costume to say the least for " special needs".

The most important part about being a nanny...

Please. Kids and handi able can crack a smile on anyone. How can one pick?! I think the best times are when as a grown up u can make them laugh or bring the same joy that they give out with no effort. Minus, some serious tantrums lol- kids always want to impress adults and get that positive reinforcement. First tooth is always a sentimental moment for me. The astonishment of a child running to show u a tooth is just embedded in my head over and over. That and wrapping something the child has made to give to someone they wanted to cheer up. Warms the soul and heart when life gets cloudy. Also, sharing my childhood books to children is inspirational and mind boggling to me that no matter what the era- books will always open your mind and boost that creative spark in such a young tater tot...
