To give quality love and care to these kids. I know I wont play a permanent role in these childrens lives but I hope that I can place a positive impact and encouragement that will last the rest of their lives.
My experience with special needs children...
I've worked with children with different needs some were wheel chaired bound and some with speech or hearing impairment. I also used to be the nanny of twin girls of which one had a feeding tube and am glad to say that with the love and support of her family she no longer needs it.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Whenever they answer questions. I love hearing their responses. Kids are great for filling in the blanks. They say some of the most thoughtful and heart warming responses and they also respond with such simplicity and often hilarious thoughts. I once said a prayer over our meal and ended with "thank you Jesus for this food" to which one of the boys answered "you're welcome" we all had a good laugh before we could start eating. 😄
