Fun and caring! Single mother of 2 children, ages 20 and 16. My journey with my children has been rewarding. I balance being playful and structured while providing understanding of children’s needs, and fulfilling parent’s requests. I offer patience and guidance while nurturing a safe environment. I have had the opportunity to care of many children over the years and appreciate each of their personalities. I attended Purdue University for my BS Criminal Justice, worked as a caregiver and medical technician for the elderly, and built my way up to head of quality control at a manufacturing factory. I volunteered regularly at my children’s for events and classroom chaperone, experience with providing nanny service in Tahoe, entrusted by many parents over the years for babysitting, play dates and sleepovers.

All activities approved by parents. I enjoy learning about the child and their interests to support their growth in what they love most and offer ideas of learning new interests. Art, crafts, music, games, beauty, imagination, creativity, building, cooking, bugs, sports, hiking, picnics. Homework is also an activity that can be made enjoyable.

Empowering young people through growth and learning while making memories. Providing a fun and safe experiences to enrich their time away from their parents. Providing the parents with peace of mind that their child is safe and happy so they can focus on other areas in life that requires their immediate attention.

My experience with special needs children...

To answer this portion directly, I have cared for children with autism, ADHD, and emotional trauma. But to be fair, every child has special needs. No child in the world is the same and each should have their own style of care tailored to them so they can thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A father has asked me to care for his twin daughters who he advised were being destructive. Their mother unfortunately had passed away a couple years prior. The girls didn’t care much for interacting voluntarily. I put out beads, art supplies and board games for them to dive into. I took their lunch orders like a waitress and observed them as I prepared their meal. Soft whispers as they did their own projects. We sat for lunch and I picked their minds to follow their imaginations to understand what they were creating. I guessed silly ideas so they would laugh and correct me. By the end of lunch they were determined to sit me down and explain, I helped them finish their projects and we went out back to hunt for treasures. When the father came to pick them up they hugged me so tight and I understood. He was surprised and impressed with their creations and the story of our adventure. The great report I gave him on their behavior filled their faces with smiles of pride, he embraced them.
