Greetings!

My name is Caitlin Elizabeth, aka Ananda Rose. I am a creative wellness enthusiast and facilitator, performer, swim instructor, and 200-hour yoga teacher. I’ve worked with children for over 20 years in various babysitting roles, afterschool programs, summer camps, and swim environments.

I take a human-centered approach with each child, adapting the way I care, teach, or hold space based on their unique needs. While babysitting in Colorado, I spent time going on nature walks with a four-year-old, making up songs and stories together on the local trails near his home. Experiences like these reflect how I naturally engage children through creativity, presence, and imagination.

I have experience supporting kids in developing social skills, accommodating special diets, and incorporating positive self-talk. I truly love witnessing young life blossom and feel honored to support children as they grow, explore, and express themselves.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a Swim Teacher for over 20 years. I used to babysit often in New York and here in Florida have often done sitting for swim clients when their parents are in need. I was in a full time role with a brother and sister in Queens, NY whose parents were doctors and nurses. I helped with meal prep and light household chores with them.I was in a full time role with a 4 year old in Denver, Colorado who had severe allergies we had to be mindful of. And In Ireland this summer, I was handed the kids quite often. As large groups of cousins gathered in the home, I had 3-5 kids at a time outside in the yard engaging in games and imaginative play.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outdoors. I love imaginative play. I love learning from the children's interests. I really am someone who loves to explore life's diversity and I find children very often bring unique lenses and expressions to the table. Personally, I am musically and poetically oriented, though I do also have a big love of the visual arts and photography. I love writing letters and playing word games. And I love working with children in the water and other wellness areas. I have also very much enjoyed doing yoga with kids as it invites a more imaginative explanation.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would say the most important thing about being a nanny is the safety and overall wellbeing of the child—on all levels: physical, emotional, and spiritual (if that’s part of the household). You support that by truly getting to know and understanding the family, their values, and the unique needs of the child.

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up with friends who have two autistic younger brothers and used to spend time with them in the family home and at the community pool. I still see one of them at the library when I am back visiting my mom. I have also worked with other children on the spectrum in private and group swim settings. I have two adult autistic friends and have worked with adults with diverse needs teaching cardio drumming and facilitating poetry exercises.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I loved making up songs with the child I cared for in Denver. Unknowingly, he would carry notes in ways that were really quite impressive. I loved seeing the song genius come out of him, unawares and unassuming. He was just having fun. It was such a cool thing to witness.
