A little bit about me

Hello! I'm currently working as an instructional aide at an elementary school, where I help students who need extra support in reaching grade-level standards. While I love my role in education, I’m looking for a fresh start in a more one-on-one, nurturing environment where I can make a direct impact.

I studied art studio at UC Davis for three years and took a break to support my mom, who recently beat cancer. My background in art makes me a natural at planning creative, hands-on activities, and I love sharing that passion with children! Outside of work, I’m an avid reader and enjoy spending time in the great outdoors—although I could do without some of the bugs! I'm excited to bring my love for learning, creativity, and nature into a caring, supportive environment for your family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My earliest work with children came when I was coaching a swim team; teaching toddlers to swim and perfecting the technique of the more advanced swimmers. Afterwards, I worked at an afterschool program for a few elementary schools; providing academic support to the children as well as enrichment. I then worked as an art instructor at an art studio, where I taught classes for all ages. With the youngest children, as young as 2 years old, I led activities like story times and sensory bins, with adults, I guided them through 3-hour painting sessions.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy encouraging children to use their imagination, creativity, and problem solving skills in various activities. This includes "making potions" using natural elements we find outside, themed sensory bins, a game "What did you see and what did it do?" that encourages the kids to explore their surroundings and think of a story about their findings. Additionally I love doing all things art with children, and find age appropriate science projects to always be a blast!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where the children can thrive. I am committed to ensuring both the physical safety and emotional well-being of a child to support their growth. Additionally, communication with parents is also key. I like to work as a team with the whole family to support the family’s goals and routines. I find this helps to build trust and create a consistent environment for the children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children in two different settings. In my job as an art instructor, I taught an Adaptive Art class for children, teenagers, and young adults with special needs. In my current position as an instructional assistant at an elementary school, I have worked one-on-one, along side teachers, and in small groups with students with special needs.
